The Ottawa Folk Festival is a dynamic and creative organization, deeply
rooted in its surrounding community. If you have an idea or suggestion for
community partnership, we'd love to hear it! Please let us know by phone
at 613-230-8234 or by email at festival@ottawafolk.org.

Here are a few examples of our work within the community:

  • Instrument-making workshops with the Canadian Museum of Science and Technology, Black History Ottawa and the Ottawa Community Immigrant Services Organization

  • Environmental demonstrations and discussions at the festival with support from Arbour Environmental Shoppe and the Canadian Union of Public Employees

  • Revival of the Acoustic Waves concert series with the Great Canadian Theatre Company

  • Performance broadcasts with community partners CKCU-FM, CHUO-FM, CBC Radio and Rogers Television

  • Concert presentation partnerships with the Ottawa International Writers Festival, KlezKanada, Writers Bloc, the Songwriters Association of Canada, the Canadian Society for Traditional Music, the Ottawa Music Coalition, the Sand Road Sugar Camp Bluegrass Festival and the Canadian Folk Music Awards

  • Music workshops and "Folk Walk of Fame" celebrations with the Ottawa Folklore Centre
