A word about us

The Ottawa Folk Festival is held in the middle of August in beautiful Britannia Park in Ottawa's west end. The Festival has been recognized as one of the "Top 50 Ontario Festivals" by Festival & Events Ontario. Our 2008 festival will be held from Thursday August 14th to Sunday August 17th.

Getting to the Festival

By public transportation - OC TRANSPO
OC Transpo has regular routes you can use to get to Britannia Park. Route 18 will have additional buses running during peak times throughout the Festival. In addition, routes 85 & 97 can be used to get to the Festival site. OC Transpo also provides an online travel planner which gives detailed point-to-point information for getting to and from Britannia Park from your location.

There will be no direct shuttle bus service this year, a change from information we had previously posted here. We apologize for any confusion or inconvenience that may have caused.

By bike
Our site at Britannia Park is situated right on the Ottawa River bike path. Our hassle-free, secure bike lock-up area will have you out of your helmet and enjoying the festival in no time.

By car
As our festival site is at a City park, paid parking is limited and available on a first come, first serve basis. We strongly recommend that you leave your car at home if you are able to. If not, we encourage you to arrive early to avoid disappointment. For guaranteed parking, please purchase an advance pass through the Folk Festival office at 613-230-8234 (after June 30, 2008). Only 200 are available, so get yours early.

The Ottawa Folk Festival features:

  • A beautiful Main Stage
  • 7 simultaneous daytime stages
  • Environmental workshops at our EnviroTent
  • Family Area with loads of activities for everyone
  • Vendors offering handmade crafts, instruments and top quality fair trade products.
  • Food Court with mouth-watering ethnic and festive foods
  • Jaw-dropping sunsets and an enormous extended family
